to the Virgins, to make much of time..Robert Herrick

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old Time is still a-flying;
And this same flower that smiles to-day,
To-morrow will be dying.

The glorious lamp of heaven, the sun,
The brighter he's a-getting,
The sooner will his race be run,
And nearer he's to setting.

That age is best which is the first,
When youth and blood are warmer;
But being spent, the worse, and worst
Times still succeed the former.

Then be not coy, but use your time,
And while ye may, go marry;
For having lost but once your prime,
You may forever tarry

LOVE'S SECRET

NEVER SEEK TO TELL THY LOVE,
LOVE THAT NEVER TOLD CAN BE;
FOR THE GENTLE WIND DOTH MOVE
SILENTLY, INVISIBLY.

 I TOLD MY LOVE, I TOLD MY LOVE,
 I TOLD HER ALL MY HEART,
TREMBLING, COLD, IN GHASTLY FEARS,
AH! SHE DID DEPART.

SOON AFTER SHE WAS GONE, FROM ME,
A TRAVELLER CAME BY,
SILENTLY, INVISIBLY;
HE TOOK HER WITH A SIGH.

WILLIAM BLAKE

Water sustains all life........

Water flows from high in the mountains.
Water runs deep in the Earth.
Miraculously, water comes to us,
and sustains all life.

It was the wind that gave them life....

Navajo 1902

It was the wind that gave them life.
It is the wind that comes out of our mouths now
that gives us life.
When this ceases to blow we die.
In the skin at the tips of our fingers
we see the trail of the wind;
it shows us the wind blew
when our ancestors were created.
